Is Homeschooling Legal ?

IS HOMESCHOOLING LEGAL ?

Regular School

My daughter started studying at the age of 6 - Kinder. She started late because nobody could take her to school. When I stopped working that was the time she started schooling. Her school was very near, barely 5 minutes drive LOL that near. It had Nursery to Grade 6. Per class only had a maximum of 10 kids, which we loved. And per class had 2 teachers. The Office people we're very nice, I guess this is the advantage of a family owned school, the family runs the business, and they are so hands on. We had a wonderful relationship with her adviser, and she enjoyed her first year of school immensely. There were moments when her classmate would bully her, boys specifically. This would upset her, being an only child she never experienced being taunted. Another factor that gave her some difficulty was that she doesn't speak the Filipino language. That was one of the factors we considered when we choose this school. We asked them if their main language of instruction was in English because our daughter could not speak nor understand Filipino. Overall her minimal difficulty was with her boy classmates. But the, she can only take so much taunting, by mid year she "fought" back. It was my turn to be called by the adviser because she kicked her classmate, 3 days in a row. We never scolded her for that hahaha we thought they deserve it for taunting her. But we did tell her to next time tell teacher if her classmate is bothering her.

10 questions you need to ask before you homeschool by IHomeschoolPH

In the Beginning

When I stopped working way back 2011, it was difficult for our family. I was the main breadwinner and we have a toddler. But God has his reasons, my health was deteriorating rapidly, and life was literally slipping away. I've been working non-stop since I graduated 1992. By 1994 I took up my Masters and graduated with flying colors 1996. I wasn't really career oriented when I took my Masters, it was more due to free time on my hands. After this, I had my sights on pursuing Law at Ateneo. But life is full of surprises because instead of having Attorney added to my name, what I got was MRS. Honestly, I never thought I'd marry. Got my heart broken that I just didn't see me settling down, there just was a no need for it. But I did. My loe story is way too complicated so that's for another set of story telling. I got hitched 1996, and we spent everyday together, we we're so on love. By 2005 we we're blessed with a baby girl. She means the world to us. At first we tried hiring people to take care of her, then we got relatives, both failed miserably and gave us much regrets. In the end, we decided that one of us should stop working to take care of our daughter and being it that my salary was higher, I stayed on the working path. My husband did a great job taking care of our little one, he was really hands on. He gave her baths, cooked her food, everything a loving mother would do. Unfortunately, even before I got pregnant My health was already on the rocks. Getting pregnant made it even worse. Let's just say checking in to the hospital was a monthly thing for us with minimum of at least 5 days. My journey into healing is (again) another set of story telling that's really worth telling because it's a miracle. By 2011 my health was in such poor condition that I had to stop working, my husband and I trade places, I am now in charge of taking care of our 6 year old daughter. You might be wondering, she's in poor health so how can she take care of her daughter. Well let's just say sleeping till noon everyday, and not needing to go to work did wonders for me. Our little one started going to school at age 6 - Kindergarten. We were blessed to find a good school very near our home. The teachers were really nice and the Student-teacher ration was 1:10 . We enrolled he during the summer to get her ready, by June the whole family was excited. Her classes were from 1:00 to 4:00. There was a serious case of separation anxiety - for me hahaha I stayed in the school grounds from 1-4 everyday for the whole school year. My little one loved school, she had a good adviser. Needless to stay, our schooling adventure started with flying colors and we're so excited for the next years to come.
